Legacy Document Object Model (DOM)

Before you read something about DOM, let me clear that Domain Object Model and Document Object Model both are different. Document Object Model is a language-independent and cross-platform meeting for representing and interacting with objects which are used in web page creation with the language HTML, XHTML and XML. HTML, XHTML and XML these are the most common languages are used to create web pages of website and skilled web designers are used those languages smartly to build attractive website design structure.

In 1996, JavaScript was released by Netscape Communications. Netscape's opponent introduced Internet Explorer 3.0 later in the same year by using JScript. Due to presence of JavaScript and JScript within web page users can interact with client-side interactivities. In the first generation, the partial services for detecting user-generated events and modifying web document of these languages known as Legacy DOM. Legacy Document Object Model was restricted for group of elements that could be accessed. Form, link and image essentials could be referenced with a hierarchical name that starts with object of root document. A hierarchical name can be made by use of either the names or the chronological index of the traversed essentials.
